Hi parents! If you are interested in competition team and wondering about the extra costs associated outside of tuition and costumes, the following excerpt is taken straight from our team contract. We hope you find this helpful. If you have any other questions, please give us a call!

SEPTEMBER

  • Choreography Fee - There will be a $150 charge per routine that your child learns from the guest choreographer (if your child performs 2 numbers choreographed by them, it will be a $300 charge).

    OCTOBER

  • In an effort to save money, we only order new warm ups/jackets every 2-3 years. In the past we have spent $90-$150. This fee will be charged in October to anyone receiving a new jacket.

  • October will also include the first half of the team fee. This is $175 per dancer, per team. Meaning if you have a child on 2 teams, you will be charged $350. Two children on two teams, $700.

    • The team fee is for miscellaneous expenses including paying teachers for time spent on choreography and competitions, extra rehearsals, travel, special music edits, possible props, truck rental for props, administration fees for registrations, 2 team parties (Christmas and end of the year), 10-11+ full color pages of our program book dedicated solely to competition team, etc.

      NOVEMBER

  • The other half of your team fee will be charged in November.

    JANUARY

  • Competition entry fees average around $90 or more per dance and HALF will be charged in January.

    • This will be a very LARGE charge if your dancer is performing multiple numbers or you have multiple dancers. We hope knowing about this several months in advance is helpful to you! These fees are per dancer AND per routine entered. Meaning if your dancer is performing 3 numbers at 3 competitions, you will be charged 9 times. Again, we ask that you please budget accordingly now according to how many performances your dancer is in.

      • Years ending in an odd number, Int - Elite Jazz teams will participate in a production number. Junior, Senior, and Elite Jazz Teams will also now perform 2 routines every year. Hip hop teams do not participate in production numbers, simply because of less time. Jazz teams rehearse 4 times longer than hip hop teams.

      • Please know, we do not make any money off of competition entry fees. We simply charge what the competition has charged us. We actually pay this when we register for these competitions as early as October and November, however we wait until January to charge you in an effort to make it easier on you. We hope you find this helpful!

    FEBRUARY

  • The other half of your competition entry fees will be charged in February.

    MARCH

  • In March, there will be a $55+ makeup fee to cover the cost of competition team makeup. Extra charges may sometimes apply if special character makeup is needed.

  • This includes makeup, multiple sets of eyelashes, earrings, etc. Please know we do not make any money off of this. We simply charge you what it costs us to purchase.

    OTHER

  • Monthly Tuition charges: These monthly charges are based on class time received, thus the different charges. Jazz teams are required to take ballet and an additional jazz class. 4-5 hours of dance may seem like a lot, but we compete against teams that dance 10-15 hours or more a week.

  • Team tuition is not discounted in our system. For jazz teams with multiple hours, a multi-hour discount is already built into the prices listed below. Hip hop teams are only 1 hour and not discounted.

    • Intermediate/Junior/ Senior/Elite jazz team is $140 per month for 3 hours of team a week.

    • Petite team is $105 for 2 hours of a team a week.

    • Hip Hop team does not require extra classes and tuition is $55 per month for 1 hour of team a week.

  • Monthly Costume charge: Competition costumes can sometimes run more or less than regular class costumes. Monthly charges are $11 per costume. Any differences in price will be charged or credited back in March like regular accessory fees or credits.

  • Drop Fees: If you withdraw (or unfortunately are removed from team) after signing this contract and participating on team, you will still be financially responsible for all money spent including warm ups, fees, costumes, etc. If the routine has to be reblocked due to your child’s vacancy for any reason, you will be responsible for paying a $100 drop fee. This would go to the teachers’ time to rechoreograph/reblock and time spent teaching the team new parts.

  • Optional Conventions - convention fees range from $175 up to $350+. Students love taking classes from famous choreographers!
